Culverden Area Walks

Just an hour from Christchurch, the small town of Culverden is a great stop - with delightful shops and fabulous walks to stretch your legs.

The Rutherford Railway Reserve Walkway

Duration of walk:	1km - less than 30 minutes
How to get there:	Culverden is approx 60 minutes from Christchurch. This walkway starts in the carpark just off SH7.
Description of walk:	This short loop track follows the boundary around the Rutherford Reserve and Culverden Domain, beginning at Dr Little's Memorial by the car park in Culverden. Named after Duncan Rutherford (the first secretary of the founding Culverden Domain Board) the reserve offers an easy walk for stretching legs or for views of the surrounding hills
Facilities available:	Toilets, rubbish bins, petrol station, shops.
