Merrell Spring Challenge

For the first time in the event’s history, the Merrell Spring Challenge is returning to a previous host location, and Hanmer Springs will host a very special anniversary celebration. A sell-out field of 420 teams is expected, with three women per team plus their support crews, creating a colourful, energetic and inspiring spectacle in the spring events calendar.

Expect a day packed with excitement as teams navigate their way through the course using map and compass, tackling a mix of mountain biking, trail walking and running, and river rafting, all connected by the challenge of navigation and teamwork. With course options ranging from 3 to 9 hours, there’s something for everyone—whether you’re in it for a fun beginner challenge with friends or you are an advanced adventurer ready to push your limits.
