Take on the iconic 84km Molesworth Run — from Cob Cottage, through NZ's largest high country station, to Hanmer Springs. A true test of endurance in one of the country's most remote and stunning landscapes.
The Molesworth Run is an iconic 84km ultra running event through New Zealand's largest high country station, from the Molesworth Cob Cottage to Hanmer Springs. Tackle it solo, or as a team of two or four, taking in Ward Pass, Isolated Flat, the historic Acheron Accommodation House, and Jacks Pass before finishing at Chisholm Reserve. Held annually since 1995, it's a true test of endurance through stunning, remote high country.

Molesworth Run 2026 — Event Info
Solo entry is $75, with team options at $150 (team of two) and $300 (team of four) — teams can also choose a "split leg" option, sharing legs between up to eight runners. Online entries close Thursday 19 November, with the race held Saturday 21 November. Solo runners start at 8am and must complete the course within 10 hours; two-person teams also start at 8am, while four-person teams start at 9am. Jacks Pass will be closed to traffic from 2:30pm–5:30pm on race day. Prize giving is held at Edit Hanmer Springs, 1 Conical Hill Road, from 8pm on race day — with a poetry competition, The Running Bard, for the creatively inclined along the way.
