Markham St Summer Festival
Saturday, 15 February 2025 12:00pm - 5:00pm
Markham Street
The Markham Street Festival, held in historic Markham Street in Amberley is back for 2025.
Looking for something fun in Amberley, bring your friends and family along to this year’s Markham Street Summer Festival. Saturday 15th February from 12pm to 5pm.
We are closing the road for a street party that will be the summer festival of the Hurunui. You don’t want to miss this!
AmbereyNZ and the event organisers say that even with the current economic challenges there has been good support from local business and community groups to keep this event going - and for 2025 there is a new theme designed to attract the public and get their toes tapping.
“We wanted a relevant theme for a rural, small town, that fitted with the existing nature of the Markham Street Summer Festival - and we are going with the “Highway Hoedown” as our theme for 2025! What that means is a fantastic lineup of country themed musicians, Karra Rhodes, Miranda Easten and Steffany Beck will be onstage from midday on February 15th entertaining the crowds and encouraging some dancing in the street!”.
There will also be some fantastic market stalls, many local, as well as delicious food trucks and local wineries. Once again Brew Moon and the Amberley Hotel will be supporting the event, as well as many new sponsors and supporters.
Organisers are encouraging people to come along early (the event runs from midday till 5pm) so they can enjoy all the fun, which will include some amusement rides, outdoor games, inflatables for the kids, free face painting and much more!
The local raffle from last year, which was such a success, has been expanded this year with almost $2000 worth of prizes on offer from local businesses and groups, including lunch and dinner at local restaurants, a Mustang ride, beauty treatments and even a load of firewood. Organisers are still keen to hear from anyone that would like to support the event, as a sponsor or volunteer on the day, or even to contribute prizes for the raffle, they can be contacted at info@blueskyevents.co.nz.
