This dual direction for walkers & one way for mountainbikers, and dual use trail has to be ridden with a great deal of respect for other trail users as it is part of the popular Jolliffe Saddle walking circuit . The trail starts from the western side near the start of Red Rock Trail and the exit from the top of the Timberland Trail. The trail first ascends through a canopy of beautiful douglas fir trees, climbing moderately before the short pinch into the open at Jolliffe Saddle itself. This is a great spot for a rest at the picnic table and a few pictures. Now lower the saddle and enjoy a low speed tight and twisty advanced grade downhill through a combination of native and wilding fir trees. Loose and tight switchbacks blend with easy rolling sections before an intimidating right hander meets the junction with the upper bridge. If you are looking to link up with either Bigfoot or the Fir Trail cross over the bridge and turn left at the road 30 metres beyond.
Alternatively continue down through a native bush section until you meet the lower bridge. Cross the bridge if you are looking to combine either, Detox or Mach 1 trails into your loop. By continuing straight on you can follow the Upper Dog Stream Trail down towards the main entrance car park.
The trail is dual use walking and biking.
