Bringing 12hr mountain bike racing back to Hanmer Springs and 24hr to the South Island. The Hanmer Halloween Howler is a 6hr, 12 hr or 24hr endurance race set on a 12.5km loop in the awesome Hanmer forest single track network.
The theme is Halloween so dress up… Halloween (or other) costumes highly encouraged. Awesome course, majority single track with short forest road sections. Elevation gain/loss approximately +/- 210m per lap.
The aim of the race format is to do as many laps as possible of the 12.5km loop in either 6hrs, 12hrs or 24hrs
The race is open to solo riders, school teams (4 riders 6hr/12hr & 6 riders for the 24hr) and teams of 2-6 riders. The “race village” will be adjacent to Squirrel lake in the woodland walk area behind the car park on Jollies Pass Road – right on the boundary of Hanmer Springs itself!
All teams will be allocated a 10x5m race site and depending on entry numbers Solo riders may have to bunk down with a team. Registration and entry to the race site will be from 7am on Sat morning.
All entries close 15th Nov unless sold out prior! Numbers are limited!
