East Coast Gravel is designed to appeal to a wide range of riders. Those looking for a challenging and competitive adventure on gravel, as well as fun, scenic day outdoors exploring some of North Canterbury’s best cycling terrain.
East Coast Gravel, presented by Specialized, is a gravel cycling race on starting in Cheviot, out to the coastline through Gore Bay, across the Hurunui River mouth, on to Motunau, before looping back to finish in Cheviot. offering the perfect blend of unknown roads, stunning vistas and the crunch of gravel beneath tyres for any cycling enthusiast.
The course is known for its undulating terrain, stunning coastal and rural scenery, and the challenge of long gravel stretches through North Canterbury. Riders will compete over two different course options, covering either 118km or 74km.
