Perched on the top of Hanmer’s most famous hill is the start of the expert grade “Eagles Nest” Trail.

The views alone are more than enough reason to make the ascent up the narrow gravel road to the Conical Hill Lookout. 360 degree views offer a panoramic view of the entire Hanmer Basin and the surrounding mountains. The trail descends along the northern ridge of Conical Hill, whipping through the pines and popping over rocky obstacles and ramps. The last section whitens the knuckles as you plummet down a steep spine of rock before popping out at the entrance to C-Line.
