Homestead Run
The Homestead Run is a 15km circuit which rides along gravel and 4WD tracks. It is a good option to give you a bit of a taste & covers a short part of the St James Cycle Trail.
Just 13kms from Hanmer Springs you will find the St James Homestead and the start of the Homestead Run.
Trail Summary
Length - 15km
Walking - 5hrs, Grade - Easy
Biking 2-3hrs, Grade - Intermediate.
Section One: The circuit starts with a 7km climb up the valley to Peters Pass, where you will find some great spots for a picnic.
Section Two: Turn right when you get to the Edwards- Peters track Junction and follow the 4WD track for 4.2kms to Tophouse Road.
Section Three: Turn right onto Tophouse Road and follow the track 3.4kms to the St James Homestead.

Bike hire is available at the Hanmer Adventure Centre. There are also two options for transport into the St James Station, the Hanmer Adventure Centre or St James Journeys. Both companies have extensive knowledge of the St James and I’m sure you will gain some inside knowledge on the cycle way.
